Centro de Arte Alberto Carneiro
The Centro de Arte Alberto Carneiro in Santo Tirso is a municipal initiative dedicated to the preservation, research, and promotion of contemporary art. The sculptor Alberto Carneiro holds a significant place in the cultural identity of the municipality, not only through the presence of his works throughout the city, but also through his pivotal role in initiating an ambitious public art programme that ultimately laid the foundations for the Museu Internacional de Escultura Contemporânea in Santo Tirso.
The visual identity draws inspiration from the verticality, rhythm, and organic forms that define Carneiro’s artistic practice. Its adaptable, organic character reflects both the sculptural language of the artist and his deep connection to the natural world. Designed to be flexible and expressive, the logo establishes a visual language that can evolve across different applications while maintaining a strong and distinctive identity.
In the centre’s communication materials, photography plays a central role. Images of artworks should preferably feature white backgrounds or be isolated from their original settings, allowing them to integrate seamlessly with the logo. This approach creates a cohesive visual composition in which the artworks and the identity coexist harmoniously, reinforcing the connection between the centre, the artist’s work, and the natural forms that inspire it.
