Outdoor identification signage for the Public Library of Setúbal
The Library in the urban spaceThe comprehension of the library as a new cultural facility, instructs the need for understanding its urban exterior signage as a living entity that, beside of capably identifying the library, should assert its own personality through an intervention that refers to local culture and tradition and their umbilical connection to the sea.
In response to this purpose, we’ve chosen the poem "Atlantic" by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen to “imprint” the building.

A Biblioteca no Espaço Urbano
O entendimento da Biblioteca enquanto novo equipamento cultural, informa a necessidade de entender a sua sinalização exterior urbana como uma entidade viva, onde, para lá de identificar funcionalmente a Biblioteca deverá afirmar uma personalidade própria através de uma intervenção que remeta para a cultura e tradição local ligadas de forma umbilical ao mar.
A escolha do poema “Atlântico” de Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen para “marcar” o edifício dá resposta a esse desígnio.
